Khushbu Rai is a seasoned economist whose career bridges academia, civil service, and regional diplomacy. With progressive experiences across national, regional, and multilateral institutions, she is driven by a strong commitment to advancing economic resilience through trade diversification, regional integration, and sustainable development for small island economies, especially in the Pacific and the Caribbean.

Miss Rai has a Master of Commerce in Development Economics with honors and a Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching accredited by the United Kingdom Professional Standards. Her professional trajectory includes her journey from being an exchange student at the Academy of Korean Studies in Seoul to contributing to global trade research and policy during the COVID-19 crisis at the World Trade Organization, Geneva.

Grounded in her Fijian roots, Miss Rai believes in approaching challenges through measured dialogue with a focus on data-driven actionable solutions aimed at creating communal impact.
