PORT VILA, VANUATU (30 May 2026): The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Sub-Regional Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Framework and the Action Plan on the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) will be finalised for submission to the upcoming MSG Women Ministers’ Meeting,
Members agreed on this at the MSG Women & Community Development Senior Officials Meeting following deliberations at this week’s Validation Workshop of the two documents.
Consensus was reached to present near-final versions of both documents at the MSG Women’s Ministers Meeting in the first week of November 2026, with finalization to continue towards the Triennial Conference of Pacific Women in March 2027.
Members also reviewed the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the MSG GESI Steering Committee and agreed in principle for a revised version to be circulated out of session.
