The Director General of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG)Dr. Anna Nuapa recently welcomed the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency OKUDA Naohisa and Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Ono Shunsuke’s for a courtesy call at the MSG Secretariat.

Discussions focused on pressing regional priorities, including potential collaboration in maritime areas. The meeting highlighted a shared advocacy for global peace and discussed maintaining the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace.” Furthermore, the dialogue touched on the importance of the “Youth for Melanesia” component, emphasizing future initiatives centered on youth empowerment, capacity building, and cross-cultural exchanges.
