MSG Social Club TC Winston funds reaches Fiji
The Melanesian Spearhead Group has the pleasure of announcing that the funds raised during the half day fundraiser for Tropical Cyclone Winston held on 26 February 2016 in Port Vila has reached Fiji.
The 800,000 vatu funds raised by individuals, institutions, anonymous donors and families have been remitted to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation of Fiji via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Fiji.
The MSG Social Club were particularly pleased with the response given that the invitation out to the public was short noticed.
It was all about how citizens of Vanuatu wanted to acknowledge the assistance given to Vanuatu by the Fiji Government and its people after Cyclone Pam had hit Vanuatu last year.
The MSG Social Club would like to sincerely thank the grand contributions of the social partners of the MSG social club such as management, staff and social clubs for National Bank of Vanuatu, Reserve Bank of Vanuatu, Origin Energy LP Gas & Appliances Suppliers, Office of the Chief Trade Advisor, Wilco Hardware, Colorite Printers, Surata Tamaso, Number 1 Security who responded so well to the invitation and were on-hand to support the fundraiser until the event ended at 8pm in the evening.
The MSG Social Club also thank the management and staff and families of the MSG Secretariat for their kind assistance and support to host the day for the TC Winston Appeal Fundraiser.
The MSG Social Club also express sincere thanks to so many individuals who gave in kind in equipment, entertainment, Maliudu Community, Paama Seaside Community, Vanuatu Institute of Technology from that contributed to the success of the event.
All donations in kind will be shipped along with other donations in kind raised by other key institutions who have fundraised for TC Winston for the people of Fiji.
